The Campton Family genealogy website aims to record the lives of people of the Campton family and other related families such as Elderfiled,Riley, Howell, Harrison, Preston, James and Fenn families. Gradually it is growing to include other family trees.
One Christmas, a family conversation about the release of recent census data and what it told us about our relatives from the past, sparked a genealogical interest. During this conversation, it was revealed that a relative had been a soldier in the First World War, which suddenly forged a link with the past. A historical event that previously had little significance now held a great deal more relevance and meaning. A few years later, this website was started to record the findings.
